YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

PageFluxer provides webpage change alerts. This policy describes how we handle information when you use pagefluxer.com and the PageFluxer browser extension.

What we collect

  • Your email address, sign-in and session records, and account plan.
  • The public page URLs you choose to monitor, your custom monitor names and labels, review status, their captured readable text, excerpts and hashes, check results, and change history. Content from a page you monitor may appear in an alert email.
  • Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, and billing country, province/state and postal code. We synchronize this billing location from Stripe to manage regional availability and support. Stripe stores your billing name, full address, invoices and payment details; PageFluxer does not store your street address, full card number or CVC in its application database.
  • Monthly check totals, outcomes, elapsed duration, and successful response-size totals, retained for up to 13 calendar months to enforce allowances and measure service usage.
  • Operational records needed to secure and run the service. Our hosting provider may also process request metadata, such as IP addresses, in its logs.

How we use it

We use this information to sign you in, check the pages you select, send change alerts, manage paid plans, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and respond to support requests. We do not use your monitored pages to send marketing email.

Browser checks and JavaScript rendering

For Browser checks, the monitored public URL and target settings are sent to a separate browser service. It loads public page resources to capture readable text. Browser sessions are temporary and are not reused between checks. We do not ask for website login credentials or retain browser cookies between checks. Daily browser usage totals are retained for 35 days and per-domain retry records for 7 days; operational logs follow the hosting provider’s retention settings. Contact support@pagefluxer.com for the browser hosting provider and processing region before using Browser checks.

Monitor setup previews

We store your target selectors, matching rules and normalized values to check the content you selected. Setup previews may send the public URL to the browser service, including when JavaScript is disabled, to produce a screenshot and element positions. Screenshots are returned to your browser and are not stored in our application database. Captured preview HTML expires after 15 minutes and is removed in background cleanup, with at most three recent captures per account. Saving a monitor retains the confirmed normalized baseline under the normal monitor retention rules. Daily preview-attempt counters are kept for up to three UTC calendar days to limit resource usage.

Browser extension

After you click the extension, it reads the current tab’s URL and title. When you select an element, it reads a short visible-text excerpt and generates a selector. Draft settings remain in extension session storage until the extension is reloaded, Chrome restarts, you clear the draft, or the tab closes. The extension does not synchronize them to your Google account. Clicking Continue in PageFluxer sends the URL, title, selectors, alert conditions, and short excerpts to the PageFluxer website for your review. It does not transfer cookies, site login sessions, form values, or page HTML, and does not collect browsing history or run analytics.

The website keeps up to five extension drafts in this browser’s local storage to preserve setup through sign-in. Each expires after one hour and is removed on the next draft access, or when you discard or successfully save it. Clearing site data also removes these drafts. They are not automatically shared across browsers or devices. Imported pages are independently loaded by our cloud preview service under the limits described above; browser excerpts are not trusted as monitor baselines.

Our extension’s use of information received from Chrome follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use this data only for the monitoring features described here, not for advertising or sale.

Optional AI change summaries

Automatic AI summaries are off by default and can be enabled separately for each monitor. You can also request a summary of one saved change. If you have not saved consent for automatic summaries on that monitor, we ask for permission for that individual change before sending selected before-and-after captured text excerpts to OpenAI. Permission for one change does not enable automatic summaries. We record that permission with the change. We do not send your account email, monitor name, target selectors, browser cookies or credentials as request fields. We filter recognizable email addresses, links and some credential patterns from excerpts, but cannot guarantee that all personal or sensitive information is removed. Do not use summaries for confidential or sensitive content.

We request that OpenAI not store the response as application state. This is not a zero-retention guarantee: OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs, generally for up to 30 days, subject to its policies and legal requirements. API content is not used to train OpenAI models by default. Processing may take place outside Canada. See OpenAI’s data controls.

We save the generated summary with its change and may include it in an alert email. Summaries follow change-history access and deletion rules. Monthly successful-summary and token totals are kept for up to 13 calendar months, attempt counters for up to 35 days, and the Free trial count for the life of the account. Turning automatic summaries off stops new automatic requests and cancels queued work; a request already sent to OpenAI cannot be recalled. You can still give separate permission for an individual change afterward. Previously saved summaries and already prepared or delivered emails are not erased by turning the feature off. AI summaries can be inaccurate; the original captured changes remain the source to verify.

Providers

Railway hosts the application and database, Resend delivers account and alert emails, and Stripe handles checkout and subscription billing. The site also loads fonts from Google. These providers may process information in countries outside Canada under their own policies and agreements.

Error diagnostics

When error monitoring is enabled, Sentry processes technical error reports to help us find and fix problems. Reports include error types, filtered error messages, code stack traces, application versions, and service labels. We configure these reports to exclude user profiles, request bodies, cookies, page captures, and arbitrary diagnostic context, and to filter credentials and URLs from error messages. This integration does not enable session replay or advertising analytics. Diagnostic records follow the retention settings of our Sentry plan.

Optional Google Analytics

If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand visits and page usage. Google processes analytics cookie identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location derived from network information, referral sources, and page activity. We send generic page names and remove query strings, URL fragments, and monitor identifiers from page-view URLs. We do not send your email address, API tokens, sign-in links, monitored URLs, monitor names, or captured page content as analytics event data.

Analytics is optional and stays off until you choose Allow analytics. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer when analytics is available. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. Withdrawing consent stops future collection and removes PageFluxer’s Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already received by Google. We do not enable advertising personalization or Google signals in this integration. Google processes analytics data under its Privacy Policy; learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Contact us with questions about previously collected data.

Cookies and retention

We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in; sessions expire after 30 days unless you sign out earlier. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Change history is accessible for 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, and 90 days on Pro. Expired history is permanently removed in background batches, including for paused monitors. We retain the latest successful text capture as a comparison baseline while the monitor exists, and retain older captures needed to explain changes still within your retention window. A downgrade shortens access immediately; upgrading cannot restore history already deleted. Deleting a monitor removes its captures and history from the active database. Account and billing records remain while your account exists and as needed for operations, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Backups and provider records may have separate retention periods.

Your choices and contact

You can pause or delete monitors on your dashboard and manage subscriptions through the billing portal. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of your account information, email support@pagefluxer.com. We may need to verify that you control the account before acting on a request.

We may update this policy as the service changes and will update the date above when we do.

Notification preferences and webhooks

We store notification schedules, timezone, monitor preferences, and delivery status. If you enable Pro webhooks, monitor URLs, names, change timestamps, bounded captured-text excerpts, and history links are sent to your configured endpoint. Choose an endpoint you control or are authorized to use. Webhook signing secrets are encrypted at rest. Completed delivery logs are retained for 7 days; pending deliveries remain while eligible for retry or scheduling. Disabling notifications does not delete monitor history. Account sign-in emails are independent of these preferences.
