GETTING STARTED

Your first monitor.
Your next useful update.

Start with one thing you would otherwise keep checking: a price, a job listing, a policy, or an announcement. PageFluxer checks it in the cloud, even when your browser is closed.

1. Bring a public URL

Open Add monitor from your dashboard and paste the page’s URL. You can also paste a direct link to a public PDF. PageFluxer needs to reach the content without a login.

Using the Chrome extension? Start from the page you’re viewing and optionally select an element there. Your selection arrives preselected in PageFluxer, where the cloud preview checks that the same content is available.

Monitoring happens in PageFluxer’s cloud.

Your personal browser’s login, cookies, shopping cart, and location are not passed to the monitor. A preview may differ from what you see when signed in.

Have several pages in mind? Discover pages reads a supplied RSS feed, Atom feed, or sitemap and lets you import selected URLs. Imported pages start paused until you finish their setup.

2. Check what PageFluxer can see

Keep automatic loading for a simple start. It begins with HTML and can try a Browser check when needed and available on your account. For webpages, Page and Text views use the same capture; switching views does not load the page again.

Confirm that the content you care about is present. A whole-page watch needs no element selection. For a specific price, label, or passage, choose it in the preview and review the extracted value. PDFs use the whole document’s readable text.

If content is missing, read HTML & Browser checks. Advanced page loading controls can wait for an element, add a short delay, or scroll a limited distance. They do not sign in, solve CAPTCHAs, or replay clicks.

3. Tell us what is worth an alert

  • Page changes: follow all selected text, or a phrase appearing or disappearing.
  • Price: choose a price change, a drop, or a crossing below your threshold. Confirm the currency and number format.
  • Availability: watch for a stock label becoming available or unavailable.
  • New items: catch newly detected articles, jobs, or listings on a webpage. Review the detected items before saving.

The goals and rules guide explains each condition. To watch new entries in a feed or sitemap itself, use a Pro source watch.

Use the suggested name and schedule, or adjust them before saving. Email scheduling and webhook details are available on the monitor details page, so you can finish setup first.

4. Let your first capture be the starting point

Your confirmed preview becomes the baseline. Existing content does not immediately produce a change alert. Future checks compare against the last successful capture and notify you when your saved rule matches.

Open the monitor to review check status and captured changes. A condition such as “falls below” alerts when it becomes true, rather than repeating on every check. A check failure preserves the previous baseline.

Choose how notifications reach you, try an AI change summary, and check Usage & plan for your remaining allowances.

A quick check before you go

Make sure the preview shows the right content, the monitor is active, and the next scheduled check succeeds. The initial baseline is intentionally quiet; you do not need an immediate email to know setup worked.
