PRICE MONITORING GUIDE

Confirm the price. Follow the offer.

Start with the product you want and the current amount you can verify. PageFluxer can identify supported product offers without requiring you to choose a page element.

Set up a product price alert

  1. Paste the product’s direct URL in New monitor and choose Price. Use the URL for the exact size, colour or other variant you want.
  2. Review Product price found. When PageFluxer identifies one current offer, it selects product tracking automatically. For an existing monitor or a setup started in the PageFluxer Chrome Extension, choose Use this product price to switch from an exact element.
  3. Check Found in the cloud against the retailer’s current product and variant. Select Yes, track this price only when they match. Reloading the capture or changing the price selection requires confirmation again.
  4. Choose The price drops, The price changes, or The price falls below your budget. Set the check interval and save.
  5. Choose email, digests or other available delivery methods in the monitor’s notification settings. The first capture saves your starting price without sending a price-change alert.

If the captured amount is wrong, do not confirm it. Try Cloud Browser loading, verify the variant, or use an exact element. The preview shows the price your monitor can capture.

What product tracking can follow

PageFluxer uses product and offer information published by the retailer to identify the current price. On supported Amazon.com and Amazon.ca pages, it also checks the Amazon product identifier (ASIN). This helps it follow the same product when a sale changes where the price appears on the page.

Automatic detection excludes crossed-out prices, recognized installment amounts, member-only price specifications and price ranges. If offers conflict, the product changes or the current price cannot be verified, PageFluxer reports a check issue and keeps the last successfully captured price.

Product data can be incomplete or stale. Confirm its price before saving. Automatic tracking does not calculate coupons, shipping, tax, subscription discounts, currency conversions or a checkout total. The seller may change between checks. Price history begins when you start monitoring.

Currency is optional in PageFluxer Cloud

Currency codes, unambiguous symbols and product data can identify the currency for you. Amazon.com and Amazon.ca product tracking use their marketplace currency and reject conflicting currency text. A bare dollar sign on another site does not imply USD.

Open Currency & number format (optional) to override the currency or choose the decimal format for an exact element. Without an identifiable currency, PageFluxer compares the numeric amount to two decimal places and displays it without a currency label. For currencies with zero or three decimal places, select the correct currency. Thresholds always use a dot, such as 125.50.

PageFluxer saves the detected currency with your starting price. If a later check shows a different currency, it reports a check issue and keeps the previous price. Choosing a currency labels the amount; it does not convert it.

When you need an exact element

Use Detected prices · exact elements or Choose an exact element if no single product offer is available, or if you want a particular price such as a public membership price. Select only the amount. A container containing the old price, sale price and installment amount is ambiguous.

An exact selection follows the part of the page you chose. If the price disappears, becomes crossed out or can no longer be identified uniquely, PageFluxer reports a check issue. To switch an existing PageFluxer Cloud monitor to automatic product tracking, open Edit targets & rules, load a fresh preview, choose the detected product price and confirm it. Saving sets a new starting price without sending a price-change alert.

Choose where the page loads

Cloud HTML reads the page as delivered by the website. Cloud Browser can run JavaScript to load prices that appear after the initial page loads. Both run separately from your personal browser. A shop can block either method, present a challenge, or show a different regional or signed-in offer.

PageFluxer Chrome Extension v0.4.1 requires an element selection and a currency for PageFluxer Local price monitors. Automatic product-price tracking and optional currency detection are currently available in PageFluxer Cloud. If you start a Cloud monitor in the extension, you can choose automatic product tracking when you confirm the preview on the PageFluxer website.

PageFluxer Local requires Chrome running on an awake desktop. Watch for future PageFluxer Chrome Extension updates for improvements to PageFluxer Local price monitoring. PageFluxer Local setup and limits →

Understand the alert

  • Price drops: a lower amount than the last successful capture.
  • Price changes: any numeric increase or decrease.
  • Falls below: a crossing from at or above your threshold to strictly below it. Staying below does not repeatedly alert.
  • In stock and below budget: add an Availability target and choose All conditions. The combined rule alerts when both conditions become true together.

Failed checks preserve the prior successful values and do not send price-change alerts. Persistent problems can trigger monitor-health notices according to your notification settings. A short-lived sale between scheduled checks can be missed. Confirm the retailer’s current offer before buying.

API and MCP

You can also set up PageFluxer Cloud price monitors through the API or a connected MCP assistant. Preview the product page, review the detected price and confirm your rule before creating the monitor. The API and MCP guides explain the supported selections, optional currency settings and required requests.
