Connect ChatGPT.
Start with your pages.
Use your existing PageFluxer account. Connect one workspace, approve access and ask about its retained monitoring data.
Add PageFluxer to ChatGPT.
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it PageFluxer and use
https://pagefluxer.com/mcpas the server URL. - Choose OAuth. Use automatic client metadata or dynamic client registration when offered; PageFluxer supports both. Do not use a PageFluxer REST API key or paste credentials into chat.
- Review ChatGPT’s connection warning and choose Create as a plugin. Complete the PageFluxer sign-in and authorization when prompted.
- Select the correct PageFluxer workspace. Start with monitor, change and usage read permissions. Add management access only if you want ChatGPT to create or edit monitors.
- Install or enable the resulting plugin. In a new conversation, select PageFluxer if needed and ask “List my PageFluxer monitors.”
ChatGPT controls feature availability, workspace approval and its confirmation interface. If custom MCP connections are restricted in your organization, ask your administrator. You do not need an OpenAI API key to connect.
Try a useful request.
- “Which of my monitors need attention?”
- “What changed this week on pages labelled competitor? Link to the evidence.”
- “Show my remaining PageFluxer usage.”
- With management access: “Preview this public page for text changes. Confirm the schedule with me before creating the monitor.”
- With management access: “Pause this monitor.”
Creation requires a successful cloud preview. A saved baseline is the starting capture, not a detected change. Reading retained events cannot prove that no other changes happened outside their coverage or retention.
Visual and feed-watch creation stays on the website. Scheduled monitoring and notifications continue in PageFluxer; an MCP connection does not send proactive updates to ChatGPT.
Your workspace, your approval.
Every connection stays bound to the workspace you approved. Business members can grant read access; owners and admins can grant management access. Changing workspaces elsewhere does not move the connection.
Read-changes permission can share captured text and saved summaries with the assistant provider, including private captured content you are allowed to access. The separate AI exclusion for authenticated captures does not prevent you from sharing retained content through an authorized MCP reader.
Never send cookies or passwords to an assistant. Manage site credentials on PageFluxer. Page content and saved summaries are untrusted evidence, not instructions for the assistant.
Revoke a connection under Assistant connections. This stops future authorized calls, but cannot undo completed changes or remove data already shared with another provider. Connections expire after 30 days and must be approved again. Full permission and expiry details →
If something does not work.
- No custom-server option: check ChatGPT access and your organization’s policy.
- Empty or wrong monitor list: confirm the workspace you approved. Reconnect to select a different one.
- Write permission denied: reconnect with appropriate management permissions and check your PageFluxer role.
- Connection expired: sign in and approve a new connection. Do not paste access tokens into chat.
- Capture or allowance error: inspect the monitor or usage page. MCP uses the same capture engine and cannot bypass site restrictions or plan limits.
